Do you work closely with Operational K9s and want to increase your medical knowledge if one of them were to require emergency care?
Operational K9s are around us daily, working jobs in Law Enforcement, Military, and Search and Rescue. Awareness of the differences in treating these K9 patients can make a difference in their outcomes. You never know when these emergency care skills will make a world of difference for an animal.
We’ve also designed this course to be fun and insightful even if you don’t work alongside a furry partner. Sometimes, you need a change of pace, and this course will have you performing mucosal assessments and palpating for veins on your animals in no time!
Five (5) modules cover an introduction to K9s, anatomy, performing assessments, other emergencies, guidelines specific to K9s, and more. You can comfortably care for or assess an operational K9 if needed.

We developed this course for everyone who could encounter an operational K9, not only prehospital healthcare professionals such as EMTs and paramedics but also police officers and K9 handlers, trainers, firefighters, search and rescue teams utilizing dogs, and many others.
While we provide guidance and education on the subject, just like in humans, the goal with operational K9s is to get them transported to definitive care from a licensed veterinarian as soon as possible.

Great info and well paced course
Truly enjoyed the class
I am an EMS volunteer, and we work with Law Enforcement, sometimes with working dogs. This is great information that I can help the handler if he needs assistance.
This class was great. It has a lot of outstanding information. I took a version of this class about 20 years ago but it didn't have half the information. The videos were really good. The presenter was clear and concise. The only thing is that I would have like to have printed an outline so that I could write notes and use it as a resource for later.
As one who also works in emergency veterinary medicine, this is pretty top notch information for field education!
